Over the course of last decade, the 600 million strong population of Southeast Asia has rapidly embraced digital media and communication. Due to improvements in infrastructure, reductions in the cost of connectivity and the proliferation of affordable devices, by 2011 the region had in excess of 150 million internet users and 300 million mobile subscribers.

These new digital consumers have driven growing demand for content and services, and Southeast Asia is developing a thriving digital media industry, following the paths of China, Brazil and Russia. The region has already produced a number of profitable digital media companies and has seen exits at valuation points exceeding US$ 250 million in enterprise value.

Digital Media Partners’ investment focus is to take digital companies from traction in a single country in Southeast Asia to region-wide presence and success. In order to provide such a service to the entrepreneurs, we offer:

  • an initial investment between US$ 500,000 and US$ 1 million to enable the company to set up operations in one or two more markets in Southeast Asia and test the business model against pressures of expansion and scaling
  • a follow-up investment of up to US$ 3 million in new funding once it is time to expand further afield
  • support with legal setup across SEA, business development in new markets, senior talent recruitment, follow-on fundraising and exit planning
